Debug forensics: using the CSI approach to troubleshooting

ByteSnap Design, will be showcasing AI Gesture recognition technology, accelerated GUI development for 4K displays and speaking about Debug Forensics at the Engineering Design Show, EDS 2021, on 19 – 20 October 2021.

EDS 2021, which takes place in Coventry, is the UK’s show for engineering, electronics and embedded design. Attracting over 3,000 visitors, the EDS event gives attendees an opportunity to access not only ByteSnap’s latest services and innovations, on Stand L22, but also workshops on industry trends and best practice.

Over the two-day EDS 2021 event, ByteSnap will be showcasing its image recognition capabilities with the Digi ConnectCore 8x on Stand L22. The interactive gesture recognition program features a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) classifier, applied to Computer Vision. Visitors to ByteSnap’s stand can experience ByteSnap’s Machine Learning demonstration, which will be based around an interactive pirate game, with body gestures processed using a regular USB camera as input.

Dunstan Power, Director at ByteSnap Design, will be presenting in a session in the New Electronics Conference on Debug Forensics: Using the CSI Approach to Troubleshooting Your Product Design. It will be on at 13:15 to 14:00 on Wednesday 20 October 2021.

Also, on Stand L22, ByteSnap will be showcasing a 1.8m-tall traffic sign, which will be running on ByteSnap’s flexible OpenGL framework, SnapUI. That demonstration drives the sign’s bank of 160×64 LEDs highlighting how SnapUI can be used for prototyping and production and showing SnapUI’s ease of use on challenging output devices.

The newest iteration of SnapUI is optimised for 4k displays and now runs on the i.MX8. SnapUI is also available on the Windows, Linux, MAC OS, Raspberry Pi and QNX platforms. All framework graphics elements are accelerated to prioritise efficiency; performance when running the demo at a blistering 60 fps is just 20% CPU load.
