Blueshark, an emerging smart electric motorcycle brand has selected HERE Technologies as their main provider of mapping and location services for its latest product Blueshark R1.
HERE will enable the smart electric motorcycle’s in-vehicle navigation system and route planning algorithms, designed exclusively for motorcycles.
The Blueshark R1 is an innovative smart electric scooter that runs on the ArkRide OS and comes equipped with a full-colour 10-inch full-colour HD IPS screen. Independently developed by Blueshark, the ArkRide OS is the smart operating system for motorcycles. Blueshark will be integrating the HERE Location Services suite into its vehicles, giving it access to accurate mapping, routing and navigation solutions through its panel display.
ArkRide OS supports GPS, Beidou and 4G navigation, music playing, driving recorder, OTA updates, etc., providing riders with a seamless ride-and go experience. Utilising specific two-wheeler routing and navigation services from HERE, this helps riders drive safely and freely to their destinations without the use of their smartphones.
“Blueshark positions itself at a global level and HERE’s world-leading location technology fits perfectly with our targeted markets, especially Europe. Together with HERE, we are looking forward to driving a bright future for this revolutionary product and that of the electric motorcycles market.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, we could not have been more grateful for having HERE’s full support,” says Alan Xie, business development VP of Blueshark. “Also, we are thrilled to be HERE’s first partner in the motorcycle industry.”
“We’ve seen more and more appetite for two-wheeler navigation solutions and are really excited to support Blueshark with this two-wheeler specific collaboration. Given safety is important, our contribution is to make sure our information is as precise as possible,” says Stanimira Koleva, SVP and general manager APAC at HERE Technologies.
“Using the location services meant for 2 wheelers from HERE, we are able to support Blueshark as they look to reshape the two wheel electric vehicle industry across the globe. We look forward to collaborating with Blueshark as they move to the next stage of its growth.”
