New channel partner programme created by Tenable with MSSPs to help organisations close ‘cyber exposure gap’

Jordan Mauriello

Tenable Inc unveiled a new partner programme, Tenable Assure™, that positions partners to build long-term, consultative relationships with customers, helping them translate raw security data into a metrics-driven program where every business decision factors in Cyber Exposure.

In recognition of the continuing global shortage of trained security professionals, Tenable Assure also includes the company’s first-ever managed security service provider (MSSP) program, which is designed to provide customers with the flexibility of choosing strategic, cost-effective solutions and custom services to help them address how to manage, measure and reduce their Cyber Exposure across the modern attack surface.

“Partners are critical to our mission of empowering organisations to accurately understand, represent and reduce their cyber risk across the rapidly changing modern attack surface,” said John Negron, chief revenue officer, Tenable. “We’re investing in our partners to help them remain competitive in a market that is rapidly evolving and together we’re building a world-class revenue-generating machine that will not only accelerate Tenable into the next stage of growth, but benefit our partners directly as well.”

As organisations of all sizes adopt new platforms, devices and computing approaches including cloud, SaaS, mobile, IoT and DevOps, their cyber attack surface expands accordingly. These organisations — most of which can’t keep pace with their modern assets or understand and accurately represent their Cyber Exposure at any given time — are increasingly turning to trusted security advisors to help them discover, assess, analyses and fix their exposure.

Tenable Assure, which takes effect on September 1, 2017, focuses on providing partners with the ongoing training and certification they need to provide their customers with strategic counsel, pragmatic solutions and custom services for securing the modern attack surface.

Tenable Assure is one of the only partner programs in the market that removes all price competition for partners by registering all enterprise and commercial deals and helping partners build predictable annual revenue. More than 23,000 customers in more than 150 countries, including over 50% of the Fortune 500, 10 of the top 10 largest U.S. technology companies and eight of the top 10 largest U.S. financial institutions rely on Tenable as the pioneer in Cyber Exposure.

With the launch of Tenable Assure the company is also introducing its first MSSP offering. This breakthrough program was designed to showcase partners’ custom services and the ways in which they can serve as an extension of a customer’s cybersecurity operations, an increasingly important consideration for many organisations facing a shortage of cyber professionals on staff.

Tenable Assure is one of the only programs in the industry that is built on a partner-first model, ensuring that Tenable’s own sales team supports partners in generating new business.

“Our end goal is always to provide industry-leading, innovative technology and services. As a Tenable Assure partner, we’re able to do just that by helping customers on their Cyber Exposure journey by offering advanced capabilities from Tenable.io, such as Web Application Scanning and Container Security,” said Jordan Mauriello, CTO, Critical Start MSSP.

“The program structure means that we’re rewarded for our investment, and it’s not just a one-way street. Tenable is also investing in us to ensure both our shared customers and our business are successful.”

The Tenable Assure launch comes on the heels of the company’s recent announcement of record second quarter results with over $50 million in billings, representing over 50% growth year-over-year. Tenable’s record results make it one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing private cybersecurity companies and reflect the company’s proven leadership and innovation in helping organisations of all sizes rethink how they manage, measure and reduce Cyber Exposure across the modern attack surface.

In the first half of the year, Tenable released a number of innovative solutions in rapid succession. These include Tenable.io™, the world’s first Cyber Exposure platform; Tenable.io Container Security to seamlessly enable DevOps processes by providing visibility into the security of container images as they are created; and Tenable.io Web Application Scanning to safely and automatically scan web applications to identify vulnerabilities. The company will continue to innovate with new solutions every quarter to realise its vision for Cyber Exposure.
