Eurotech expands its IoT gateway portfolio by introducing the new ReliaGATE 10-12 with integrated LTE connectivity

Eurotech, a provider of embedded systems, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, expanded its IoT offering by introducing a new IoT gateway ReliaGATE 10-12, a compact IoT gateway featuring LTE connectivity for industrial and lightly rugged applications.

ReliaGATE 10-12 is based on the TI AM3352 Cortex-A8 (Sitara) processor running at 1GHz, with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of eMMC and a user-accessible microSD slot. It provides a wide range of connectivity capabilities, including LTE Cat 1 (available for Europe and North America), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, and 2 Fast Ethernet ports; other interfaces are two protected RS-232/485 serial ports, 2 CAN bus, 2 noise and surge protected USB ports, and 4 isolated digital I/O.

ReliaGATE 10-12 is a low power (2W typical) gateway with a wide range power supply (9 to 36VDC) and a wide operating temperature range (-20 to +70°C) making it particularly suitable for demanding applications.

ReliaGATE 10-12 comes with the genuine Oracle Java SE Embedded 8 Virtual Machine and the Everyware Software Framework (ESF), a commercial, enterprise-ready edition of Eclipse Kura, the open source Java/OSGi edge computing platform and middleware for IoT gateways.

Distributed and supported by Eurotech, ESF features ready-to-use field protocol support (including Modbus, OPC-UA, S7), MQTT connectivity to all leading IoT cloud vendors, web-based visual data flow programming, advanced configuration and security, diagnostics, provisioning, and full remote access and management thanks to its integration with Everyware Cloud (EC), Eurotech’s IoT integration platform (available separately).

The Everyware Software Framework makes the ReliaGATE 10-12 a perfect fit for several application cases including:

  • Data collection telemetry
  • Energy monitoring
  • Embedded industrial
  • Brownfield connectivity
  • Remote maintenance of field devices
  • Internet cellular connectivity for isolated subnets

Eurotech is also announcing two expansion modules to extend the gateways capability and bringing to the customers extra features:

ReliaGATE 10-12

The ReliaIO expansion module extends I/O capabilities and will be available for several members of the ReliaGATE family including the ReliaGATE 10-12. The ReliaIO, delivers additional Digital I/O ports (4x In, 4x Out, all isolated) and Analog Input ports (4x @12bit). The ReliaIO 10-12 shares the same wide operating temperature range (-20 to +70°C) of ReliaGATE family of products.

The LoRa expansion module that will be available in Q1 2018 will add the capabilities of a LoRa Gateway to the ReliaGATE family. Extremely compact and rugged, ReliaLORA accelerates and simplifies the creation of a LoRa LPWAN and makes it easy and fast to connect a swarm of LoRa nodes to the cloud.

Supporting EMEA (868MHz) and North America (915MHz) frequencies, ReliaLORA features the Semtech® SX1301 data concentrator, ensuring seamless interoperability between nodes and infrastructure.

Finally, when customers need to embed connectivity within their own assets, Eurotech also introduces the CPU-310-12, an embeddable single board computer (SBC) variant of ReliaGATE 10-12 offering the same hardware and software features packaged thus allowing maximum flexibility in its integration.

In addition to the standard configurations, Eurotech offers many personalisation options (MOQ might apply) for its products, including:

  • Custom hardware features
  • Product depopulation for cost optimisation
  • Custom enclosures
  • Additional certifications
  • Custom software image pre-installation
  • Branding options (device color, logo, etc.)
